How to Tell the Difference: A Guide to Identifying Irradiated Pearls

Will the color of the irradiated pearls fade? Compared to the natural silver-gray, it will be more stable because the nucleus has turned black, so it will not fade significantly. Natural silver-gray Akoya pearls are caused by brown secretions mixed between the pearl nucleus and the pearl layer, and the color of the pearl will become lighter over time.

What is the Specially Selected Pearl?

Since August 2017, the "Specially Selected Pearl" has been subdivided into two grades, "SUPEARL" and "GRANPEARL", with "SUPEARL" using a gold tag and "GRANPEARL" using a silver tag. In the new classification, the original "Specially Selected Pearl" are equivalent to the graded "GRANPEARL", while those of better quality and rarer than the "GRANPEARL" are called "SUPEARL". The "SUPEARL" pearls, which are even better and rarer than the "GRANPEARL", are the best of the best and have been carefully selected. Both "SUPEARL" and "GRANPEARL" are pearls of the highest quality.

How To Identify The Pearl Lustre Is Strong Or Weak?

Buyer Pre-Purchase Information

There are various prices for pearls, even in the same size, with different luster, different blemishes, and different varieties. Prices are all very different. Before you ask for the price, please let me know the pearl type (freshwater/South Sea), size (7-7.5 mm/10-11 mm), acceptable blemishes (blemishes/slightly blemished/very slightly blemished), and luster. It is best to tell what style it is used for, earrings or pendants.
